The English Language Congregation (ELC) is one of the seven congregations that make up the National Evangelical Church in the Kingdom of Bahrain (NEC) and traces its hisÂtory to 1893 when Rev. Samuel Zwemer and his small team of missionaries from the Reformed Church in AmerÂica (RCA) arrived in Bahrain and established the first protesÂtant church in the AraÂbian Gulf.
