Al
Reyami Steel Construction and drilling and cable laying is a specialized

This
technology is used to install cables and pipes underground without cutting or
excavating the ground surface. It is useful for crossing paved areas, green

Bores
can be completed in a wide variety of ground conditions ranging from sand to
solid rock. Directional control is guided by a slanted drilling head. Accurate

Horizontal
Directional Boring
This
technology developed approximately 10 years ago, it is a specialized method of
cable and pipe underground installation, without disturbing the ground surface.
This
technology is a non-excavation method; therefore no collapsing of the ground
surface is possible. For this reason, the technology has replaced the auger
boring technology.
This
technology is used worldwide, and proven to be the reliable method of
underground utility installation.
In
addition, we also have eclipse locators, which are used with the boring units
for directional control. Eclipse locators can also be used for locating cables
and pipes, before boring, to assist in avoiding pre-existing underground
utilities
Furthermore,
no pits are required with this technology, and it is known as “NO DIG”
“TRENCHLESS TECHNOLOGY”.

Advantages
Clean safe

Uses
a fluid assisted cutting bit.
Cutting
is done by the bit blending the ground with fluid without excavating. Using the
cutting bit requires a low volume and low pressure of fluid. Safe, clean, fast,
reliable.
(Other
systems use fluid pressure for blowing the whole open, which may weaken the
stability of the surrounding ground. This also requires high fluid volume and
pressure which is not safe, nor clean).
ü Controlled
steering with cutting bit (Steering is not using fluid pressure).
ü Since
the cutting bit is the method of actual cutting, (not the fluid), the standard
directional boring machine is capable of drilling through rocks, as ground
conditions may vary, so the bores can be completed in the reliable, safe
manner.
ü Directional
boring units available for working in solid rock conditions with steering
capabilities, with safety, using a very low volume of fluid (only 30 liters per
minute require—clean, safe, reliable, proven technology)
ü The
fluid is mixed with natural Bentonite (which is pure clay)—safe for the
environment.

DETAILS OF DRILL HEAD
1. INTRODUCTION
The
HDD Drill head is commonly used in the pilot boring operation. The Directional
Drilling bit is used to drill in to the ground with fluid assistance. The
actual ground drilling is mechanical cutting by the 6” drill bit. With the aid
of fluid, sprayed at a low pressure out of the drill head, it lubricates and
cools the electronic tracking components in the drill head. Below is the
picture and characteristics of drill head which is commonly used our HDD job:
A. TUFF
BIT:
The
ultimate long wearing bit for all soil condition is TUFF BIT. This bit is not afraid of hard compacted soils or soft
sedimentary rock. The tuff bit segment s along the leading edge has the
strength and stability to handle the pounding and the vibration of drilling
rock. The barracuda material down the sides reduces wear on the nose of your
housing. Nothing in our line of regular bits lasts as long as the TUFF BIT.
B. STEEP TAPER TUFF BIT
Steep
taper tuff bit is designed with a pointed triangle shaped nose. This bit is not
afraid of hard compacted soils or soft sedimentary rock. It is ideally used for
hard soil and rocky soil. With the same characteristics as tuff bit, it also
segments along the leading edge have the strength and stability to handle the
pounding and vibration of drilling rock.
BACK
REAMERS
Back
reamers are available for a wide range of job conditions. From the cutting and
expanding requirements of extreme soil conditions, such as rocks, chunk rock,
and cobble, to the spoils handling of long bores, back reamers are engineered
to be productive and flexible.
Beavertail Back Reamer
The
Beavertail Back Reamer’s low-weight design low-resistance profile and efficient
fluid handling requires far less horsepower for rotation in a variety of soil
conditions.
CT Cutter Back Reamer
This
general purpose back reamer is designed for use in sand, packed clay and soft
sandstone. The CT cutter back reamer has a cutting structure that features
carbide segments.
Fluted Cone Back Reamer
Designed
for cutting and compacting the hole in medium to tough soil conditions, the new
Fluted Cone Back reamer is manufactured using today’s modern casting technology
creating products that are strong, durable, lighter in weight and more
economical than solid steel.
HC Hard Condition Back Reamer
The
HC hard condition back reamer’s 12 carbide segments are designed for aggressive
cutting and spaced to achieve even wear and smooth operation. This general purpose
Back
reamer is used in hard compacted soil and soils with intermittent chunk rock.
MX Mixer Back Reamer
The
MX mixer back reamer is ideal for soil conditions such as gumbo and black clay.
This general purpose back reamer features mixer behind each of the four
segments providing for efficient back reaming.
ST Saw Tooth Back Reamer
The
ST saw tooth back reamer is used in all compacted soils, shale and soft
sandstone. The design of this general purpose back reamer helps stabilize loose
rock and cuttings.
Three- Winding Rock Back Reamer
Designed
for low torque pressures excellent fluid mixing and flow, the three-winged rock
back reamer gives you the ability to back ream in more extreme soil conditions
such as hard compacted soils or sandstone and limestone.
